SUBMISSIONS

The NTA Pre Budget Submission 2008-09
The NTA in January 2008 submitted to Treasury and the Tourism Minister a pre-budget submission highlighting the key concerns of the industry.

The NTA Pre Budget Submission 2007-08
This pre budget submission has been lodged with Treasury. The submission is a "two volume" format:

• The main submission volume, including a 2 page Executive Summary and;
• An Appendices volume, which expands upon the major issues addressed in the submission, in particular the NTA's two key 2007-08 Budget recommendations.

As outlined in the document, the NTA will now enter a second "phase" of policy development using the Conceptual Framework presented in this submission to more comprehensively analyse and address issues relevant for the remainder of the "10 Year Plan" for Tourism.

The NTA looks forward to continuing its work with the Federal Government to enhance opportunities and outcomes for the Australian tourism industry.

Industry Submission on Tourism Shopping
The NTA’s industry submission to Treasury's review of Tourism Shopping Arrangements in Australia has been submitted. It made a number of suggestions and recommendations to the Government to improve:

• The tourist experience of shopping in Australia,
  showing that shopping was one of the key positive
  aspects of tourists’ experience of Australia;
• The yield to the tourism and related industries from
  tourism shopping.
